Officer Evan Dunn EOW 11-06-24
The Golden Police Department and the Golden community mourn the loss of Officer Evan Dunn. Evan grew up in Columbia, Missouri where he was a 2010 graduate of Rock Bridge High School. He went on to Columbia College where he joined the Army ROTC. While at college, he met the love of his life, Annalise Morrison. In 2015, Evan graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor’s degree in business. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Missouri Army National Guard and was selected to be trained as an Army aviator specializing in the Black Hawk helicopter. Evan was deployed to Fort Belvoir, VA on mission in service of the Pentagon where he served as a pilot and unit commander. He also later commanded a medevac unit in Springfield, MO.
Evan and Annalise were married in 2017 in Columbia, MO, moved to Kansas City, and then to Fayetteville, AR. In 2021, the couple moved to the Denver area. Evan served as a unit commander in the Colorado Army National Guard at Buckley Space Force Base and achieved rank of Captain.
Evan joined the Golden Police Department in 2022 as a Code Enforcement Officer. He later entered the police academy and became a Golden Police Officer in June of 2024.
Evan is survived by his beloved wife Annalise and their dog Remy, his parents William and Lucinda Dunn of Columbia, MO, his siblings Aubrey (Caleb) Rowden of Columbia, MO, and William Tyler (Mindy) Dunn of Centralia, MO. He is also survived by his grandparents Robert and Laura Ertz of Columbia, MO, and Elizabeth Dunn of Kingdom City, MO. Preceding Evan in death were his grandfathers, James Dunn of Kingdom City, MO and David Waage of Davenport, IA. Evan is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.
A private service will be held in Colorado. A celebration of life ceremony is being planned for his home town in Missouri.S
The Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation is assisting the Golden Police Department during this time. Monetary donations to the CFHF will go towards funeral expenses and support for the Dunn Family Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation.
